Big Bulb Planting
Get ready this October for the Freshford and Limpley Stoke Big Bulb Planting, organised by Meadow in my Garden, Friends of Freshford and Nature Chain.
Thanks to funding from GWR, we have purchased thousands of beautiful bulbs for a spectacular "Rivers of Gold" flowing through our villages. Every household is invited to join in and will be provided with bulbs and a mapped location for planting. Native daffodils, as well as some miniature daffodils, winter aconites, wild tulips and pale-yellow crocuses... each species of bulb has been chosen to naturalise over time and be in keeping with their surroundings. As well as the beauty that we and future generations can enjoy, the spring flowers will create flowering corridors of forage, providing an important food source for our pollinators.
A series of bulb planting events are planned from 10am to 2pm as follows:
Limpley Stoke George V Park - 5th Oct
Freshford Cemetery - 6th Oct
Freshford Tyning - 13th Oct
